How We Chose the Best M4A4 Skins
This list is based on sales volume for regular versions across all wear ratings: the amount of money generated by a skin’s sales over a week. This isn’t a ranking by number of sales. The approach includes sought-after, expensive finishes instead of filling the list with cheap items used in Trade Up Contracts.
We picked four popular skins for each of three budgets: under $5, $5 to $50, and $50 to $500. Our selection uses the seven-day Steam sales median as of October 1, 2026: the price of the cheapest regular version that had sales. Prices in tables and item cards update automatically. The starting price doesn’t mean every item with that name costs the same.
The table also shows the wear of each item and the number of sales for regular versions across all wears over the week. These are different metrics: sales apply to the skin as a whole, while the starting price applies to a specific wear. More sales make for a more reliable price reference and can make it easier to find someone to trade with. But sales volume isn’t the same as the number of active listings.
- Sales volume
- The total value generated by an item’s sales over a selected period.
- Median
- The price in the middle of a set of sales prices, ordered from lowest to highest.
- Float
- A numerical value that represents the wear of an individual skin.
Cheap M4A4 Skins Under $5
This category includes M4A4 | Tooth Fairy, a Classified skin; M4A4 | Evil Daimyo and M4A4 | Sheet Lightning, both Restricted; and M4A4 | Magnesium, a Mil-Spec Grade skin. The starting price for all four is for Battle-Scarred condition.
| Skin | Rarity | Starting Price | Wear | Collection | Sales This Week |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
 M4A4 | Tooth Fairy | Classified | from $4.02 | Battle-Scarred | The Fracture Collection | 3,541 |
 M4A4 | Evil Daimyo | Restricted | from $3.37 | Battle-Scarred | The Falchion Collection | 1,649 |
 M4A4 | Sheet Lightning | Restricted | from $0.65 | Battle-Scarred | The Boreal Collection | 4,170 |
 M4A4 | Magnesium | Mil-Spec Grade | from $0.28 | Battle-Scarred | The Danger Zone Collection | 3,766 |
M4A4 | Sheet Lightning from The Boreal Collection stands out among these four for its number of sales. M4A4 | Magnesium from The Danger Zone Collection has the lowest starting price, while M4A4 | Tooth Fairy has a higher rarity within the same budget category. We think it’s more useful to compare the appearance of individual items and their sales activity than to choose by rarity alone: rarity doesn’t tell you which skin you’ll like.
Skins Priced $5 to $50
The mid-range category includes two Covert finishes — M4A4 | Temukau and M4A4 | Neo-Noir — and two Classified finishes: M4A4 | Desolate Space and M4A4 | Falak. Each comes from a different collection. As in the other tables, the starting prices are for regular Battle-Scarred versions.
| Skin | Rarity | Starting Price | Wear | Collection | Sales This Week |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
 M4A4 | Temukau | Covert | from $30 | Battle-Scarred | The Revolution Collection | 1,229 |
 M4A4 | Desolate Space | Classified | from $13 | Battle-Scarred | The Gamma Collection | 1,616 |
 M4A4 | Falak | Classified | from $18 | Battle-Scarred | The Arabesque Collection | 779 |
 M4A4 | Neo-Noir | Covert | from $30 | Battle-Scarred | The Clutch Collection | 507 |
M4A4 | Desolate Space from The Gamma Collection leads these options in number of sales. M4A4 | Temukau from The Revolution Collection has also sold more than M4A4 | Falak and M4A4 | Neo-Noir. This can help if you’re looking for finishes with more active trading, but it doesn’t replace checking listings for the wear you want.
We think the mid-range category is useful for comparing skins without focusing on a single rarity: it includes both Classified and Covert skins, and starting prices vary even within the same rarity. If you like M4A4 | Temukau, check the version and wear separately. The example below shows why the price of one item isn’t a good guide to the rest.
Expensive Options: $50 to $500
M4A4 | The Emperor, M4A4 | Eye of Horus, M4A4 | Asiimov, and M4A4 | X-Ray are all Covert skins, but they come from different collections and have different levels of trading activity. The starting prices for the first three are for Battle-Scarred condition. The cheapest M4A4 | X-Ray listing with sales is Minimal Wear.
| Skin | Rarity | Starting Price | Wear | Collection | Sales This Week |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
 M4A4 | The Emperor | Covert | from $60 | Battle-Scarred | The Prisma Collection | 230 |
 M4A4 | Eye of Horus | Covert | from $151 | Battle-Scarred | The Anubis Collection | 13 |
 M4A4 | Asiimov | Covert | from $92 | Battle-Scarred | The Winter Offensive Collection | 30 |
 M4A4 | X-Ray | Covert | from $95 | Minimal Wear | The eSports 2013 Winter Collection | 18 |
M4A4 | The Emperor from The Prisma Collection stands out among these four for its number of sales. The other options trade less actively, so an individual sale is a less reliable price reference. M4A4 | Eye of Horus from The Anubis Collection has the highest starting price of the four, but not the most sales.
We wouldn’t use price as a substitute for personal preference: a more expensive option isn’t necessarily a better fit for your inventory. It helps to choose the finish first, then the wear you want, and only then compare listings. Otherwise, you might compare M4A4 | X-Ray in one condition with another skin in a different condition and mistake the price difference for a difference between the finishes.
How to Choose a Skin Without Overpaying
Start with three questions: which finish do you like, what wear are you considering, and do you want a StatTrak™ version? Then compare like for like. A starting price can help you find options within your budget, but it doesn’t represent the price of every item in that range.
Wear and Float: Compare Individual Items
M4A4 | Temukau has a Float range of 0 to 0.8. The comparison below covers two conditions: Battle-Scarred and Factory New. Prices vary between these conditions for the same skin, so the name alone isn’t enough to judge its price.
| Skin | Wear | Version | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| M4A4 | Temukau | Battle-Scarred | Regular | $30 |
| M4A4 | Temukau | Battle-Scarred | StatTrak™ | $27 |
| M4A4 | Temukau | Factory New | Regular | $101 |
| M4A4 | Temukau | Factory New | StatTrak™ | $220 |
StatTrak™ Doesn’t Always Mean a Higher Price
The Caseway Wiki lists 52 M4A4 skins, 29 of which have a StatTrak™ version. Based on the seven-day Steam median as of October 1, 2026, the StatTrak™ version of M4A4 | Temukau costs less than the regular version in Battle-Scarred condition, but more in Factory New. This shows why a StatTrak™ premium isn’t guaranteed. Compare the specific pair rather than assuming the price relationship will be the same across different wears.

GuideReadWhere to Compare Steam and Other Marketplaces
To compare options, browse all M4A4 skins in the Wiki and check prices for the finish, wear, and version you want. We recommend comparing marketplaces only after narrowing down your options: the lowest price for a different wear or version won’t tell you where your specific pick is cheapest.
Note the skin name, wear, and version you want from the start. This makes it easier to compare listings and keeps you from mixing up a regular item with a StatTrak™ version.
Don’t assume the starting price applies to every wear. A Factory New item may already be outside the budget that includes the cheapest version.
MarketGuideReadFrequently Asked Questions
The most-purchased skin, the leader in sales volume, and the most expensive item sold are different ways to measure popularity. Choose the metric that best matches what you’re looking for.
What is the most popular M4A4 skin?
M4A4 | Aeolian Dark led in number of sales for regular versions across all wear ratings over the week. That’s a measure of completed sales, not sales volume, which is what we used to select the skins in this guide. Browse the M4A4 Wiki to check available skins and trading stats.
What is the most expensive M4A4 skin?
The most expensive M4A4 skin among items sold in the week leading up to October 1, 2026, was M4A4 | Buzz Kill in Factory New condition. This refers to a specific item that sold, not the highest price of an active listing. Check other wears and versions separately.
Which M4A4 skins cost less than $5?
The budget category includes M4A4 | Tooth Fairy, M4A4 | Evil Daimyo, M4A4 | Sheet Lightning, and M4A4 | Magnesium. Prices are for regular Battle-Scarred versions. Other wears or versions may cost more, so check the table for the specific item you want.
Do M4A4 skins come in StatTrak™ versions?
Yes. Of the 52 M4A4 skins in the Caseway Wiki, 29 have a StatTrak™ version. It isn’t available for every finish. Compare its price with the regular version in the same wear: the M4A4 | Temukau example shows that StatTrak™ doesn’t always cost more.
