What are Twitch Drops in Rust?
Twitch Drops are Rust items you earn by watching streams marked Drops Enabled. They’re a way to get free Rust skins during a special campaign, known as a round. Skins earned this way are bound to your account, so you can’t trade or sell them. You can find the list of rounds and their requirements on the official Facepunch page.
Players earned more than 37 million Drops in 2025, according to Facepunch’s year-end figures. But check the requirements for each round: which items are available, how long you need to watch, and which channels count.
How to link Twitch to Rust
You need a Twitch account and a Steam account with Rust in its library. Link those accounts: Twitch tracks your watch time, and the item goes to your Steam inventory. You don’t need Twitch Prime.
- Open the Drops pageGo to the official Facepunch page at twitch.facepunch.com.
- Click Connect AccountsSign in to Twitch and to the Steam account that owns Rust, then link them.
- Choose a streamWatch a Rust stream marked Drops Enabled. For General Drops, any eligible stream will do. For a Streamer Drop, watch the specified streamer.
How to change the linked account
If your account is already linked to another one, sign in to the previously linked account and unlink it first. If you can’t access your old Twitch account, sign in with Steam on the Drops page and click Unlink Account. Then you can link a different account.
Only link your accounts on the official Facepunch page. In an update announcement dated October 1, 2026, the developers specifically warned players about scammers.
General and Streamer Drops: what to watch
There are 2 types of Drops. General Drops require you to spend a set amount of time watching eligible streams, while Streamer Drops require you to watch a specific channel. Check your progress in Twitch’s Drops Inventory.
- General Drops are earned by watching any eligible Rust streams. As you reach each watch-time milestone, you unlock the next item.
- Streamer Drops require an hour of watch time on a specific streamer’s channel. You can’t earn one by watching just any Rust stream.
Pick the item you want and check its requirement first. Only one channel counts at a time, so opening several streams won’t speed things up.
Example requirements: Rust Isles Round 53
Rustoria ran Round 53 of Rust Isles. It has ended: the round ran from September 24, 2026, at 19:00 UTC, to October 4 at 23:59 UTC. In Kyiv, that was September 24 at 22:00 to October 5 at 02:59. The rewards below are an example of what was available, not a list of Drops you can claim now. You can’t claim rewards from a completed round later.
General rewards for total watch time
The round’s General Drops were skins for 6 items. The table shows the total watch time required. For the hoodie, you needed 6 hours in total, not another 6 hours after claiming the previous reward.
