These changes serve different purposes. Wood armor is now open for Workshop submissions, the Crystal Assault Rifle is up for purchase, and random crafting pulls from skins you already own. The rest of the Breach and Clear changes are listed in the Facepunch announcement.

Skin creators can now work on all four pieces of Wood Armor

The in-game workshop now lets creators make skins for the full Wood Armor set. To get started, find the corresponding clothing items in the workshop, download the model files, and add your own materials. This lets creators prepare work for the workshop; the announcement doesn’t mention any new skins already made for the set.

  • Wood Chestplate: the model is available for creating skins.
  • Wood Armor Pants: the model is available for creating skins.
  • Wood Armor Helmet: the model is available for creating skins.
  • Wood Armor Gloves: the model is available for creating skins.

The section on Wood Armor received 249 votes up and 20 down on the announcement page. Skin creators can now work on the appearance of all four pieces in the set.

The Crystal Assault Rifle shows the ammo in its magazine

The Crystal Assault Rifle is a skin for the Assault Rifle, released as DLC. It comes in five color variants. When firing, you can see the ammo in the magazine and the weapon’s internal parts in motion. The skin is available in-game or through the Rust item store on Steam; the developers haven’t listed a price in the announcement.

Of the article’s three sections, this one drew the most divided response on the announcement page: 158 votes up and 148 down. These are votes from players on the announcement page, not an indication of how Rust players as a whole received the skin.

A random skin is selected separately for each item

A “random” option has been added to the top of the skin list when crafting. Select it and each crafted item will get a random skin from the ones you’ve already unlocked. The setting is saved separately for each item type, so you can use random selection for one item and keep a specific skin set for another.

This feature doesn’t unlock new skins; it changes how players choose from the skins they already have available. The developers also mentioned fixing a bug that caused random skins to appear on deployable items. The Adam W section received 237 votes up and 27 down.
