On September 22, 2026, Valve added the ability to apply stickers to C4. For players, this means another surface to customize; for the market, it is another way to use existing stickers. Once applied, a sticker is removed from the pool of individual items: it is used for customization and is no longer available for resale.
The Valve announcement confirms that stickers can be applied. It does not disclose how widely the feature is being used. So while rising prices show the market's response to the new feature, they do not prove how many stickers have already been used on C4.
Bomb-themed stickers got a new reason to attract demand
The connection to the update is especially noticeable among stickers whose names reference bombs. The price of Sticker | Bomb Code rose by 115.7%, Sticker | Bomb Doge by 96.3%, and Sticker | Bomb Squad (Foil) by 68.6%. Sticker | WARNING (Foil) gained 122.9%. C4 support gave these designs a new use: their theme can now be linked to the item they are applied to.

CT in Banana led the gains, while the segment as a whole fell
Among the items listed, Sticker | CT in Banana saw the biggest move, rising by 197%. Sticker | Apeks (Gold) | Paris 2023 gained 120.4%. These examples suggest that the overall response cannot be explained solely by bomb-themed names. The data shows selective gains, but does not reveal why buyers chose these particular stickers.
At the same time, Sticker | torzsi (Holo) | Budapest 2025 fell by 33.9%, Sticker | 100 Thieves (Gold) | 2020 RMR by 29.4%, and Sticker | Ninjas in Pyjamas (Holo) | Budapest 2025 by 27.7%. The average sticker index for the week after the update was 2.3% lower than the previous week's. This means gains in individual items should not be applied to every sticker in an inventory.
This is how interest in stickers shifted: some items gained an additional use, while others continued to lose value. However, the decline in tournament stickers cannot automatically be attributed to purchases for C4. There is no data showing money moving between these items.
The next thing to watch is how C4 is used, not just its price
The next question is whether interest will hold after the first week. To assess that, it will be useful to compare the subsequent performance of themed stickers with the index for the entire segment and, if data becomes available, with sales and application volumes. So far, only the price response has been measured; the scale of sticker consumption is unknown. For sticker owners, the key reference point is the individual item: the new feature did not have the same effect on every item in an inventory.
