Facepunch launched its annual Halloween event on October 22, and it runs through November 5. Alongside Candy Hunt, the event has 2 more mechanics. You can build a pet monster from scarecrow and mummy body parts, and rifts appear at random across the island. Enter at your own risk.

Candy Hunt: 3 minutes to collect candy
Candy Hunt starts on the server roughly every 2 in-game days. You get 3 minutes to collect as much candy as you can. The top 3 players receive special loot bags, which can contain anything from Scrap to an M249.
There’s something for players who don’t win, too. Collected candy opens on its own, and you can upgrade it for better loot.
How to build your own monster
Scarecrows and mummies roam the island and drop body parts. You’ll need a head, torso, and legs to build a monster. Then craft a Frankenstein's table, put all 3 parts inside, and bring your pet to life.
Press P to control your monster. It obeys every command, follows you around the map, protects you when you're attacked, and goes after anyone you point it at. Think of it as a personal bodyguard that won't share any loot with you.
If the pet menu won’t open or P is already bound to something else, rebind it with a console command or in the game’s controls menu.

GuideReadR.U.I.N rifts: where the portals lead
Portals appear at random across the island. Some blame cultists; others think they’re a Cobalt experiment called R.U.I.N that went wrong. Almost nothing is known about what the portals do or where they lead. Only a few brave souls have made it back alive.
Server owners can change the number of portals with the halloweendungeon.population variable, so the count may vary from server to server.
Dracula’s Mask and a stake for the undead
Items from past Halloweens are back, too. This year, you can buy the Dracula Mask or craft it from 10 pieces of cloth. Facepunch says it protects your head early in a wipe, before you have proper armor. The Undead Cloak drops from undead corpses and, according to Facepunch, offers excellent protection. You can also find a Wooden Stake there. It puts undead down in one hit and gets you more loot from them.

Twitch Rivals and drops for watching
The next Twitch Rivals tournament, Base Invaders, starts on October 23 at 11:00 AM Pacific Time (18:00 UTC). The exclusive Twitch Rivals Spooky Backpack drop is available for just one day on twitchrivals, starting with the main broadcast. Other drops are available until November 1 on any Rust channel. Link your Twitch account to Steam to claim them.

- Discord x Rust: From October 22 to November 5, Nitro subscribers can claim a plush Zombie Wumpus with Discord Orbs in the Rust shop on Discord. You can place it anywhere in your base, and it provides 70% comfort nearby.
- Clock change: The UK switches from BST to GMT, so keep an eye on client and server announcements tied to specific times.
