HLTV reported NAVI’s entry on October 20. HyperX Retake Season 13 is a 16-team LAN tournament in Lisbon, running from October 29 to November 1, with a $16,996 prize pool. It overlaps with PGL Masters Bucharest (October 24–31) and runs right up against IEM Beijing (November 2–8). Teams could withdraw from HyperX until October 19, but NAVI stayed on the participant list.
The team is trying to avoid missing a Major for the first time in the organization’s history. After a poor run in the fall, NAVI dropped out of the VRS top 20 in September and now sit 30th. HLTV’s simulation gives them a 96.6% chance of qualifying for the Major, but, as the outlet notes, that estimate assumes they win LAN matches, including against lower-ranked teams. Without those wins, NAVI will fall out of contention. The field in Lisbon is still undecided, and a three-team GSL group means fewer matches in which to pick up those wins.
