Dota 2 Arcanas: Hero List, How to Get Them, Styles, and Prices

What an Arcana is and what it changes

Arcana is the rarest category of hero cosmetics. Compared with a regular set, an Arcana brings bigger changes: a new look or model, animations, ability effects, icons, and voice lines. Some also have counters and alternate styles, but check the details for each item.

Terrorblade’s Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm changes his animations, effects, and ability icons, as well as his voice and death and respawn music. Gems change the color of his abilities and weapon. Earthshaker’s Planetfall adds a new model, unique effects for Echo Slam, Enchant Totem, Blink Dagger, and stuns, a combo counter, and more than 500 new voice lines.

Queen of Pain gets a new model and animations with Eminence of Ristul, along with unique Sonic Wave and Blink effects, a close-range whip attack, and a Sonic Wave pain counter. She also has more than 500 voice lines.

Every Dota 2 Arcana by hero

The way players get Arcana items has changed over time. The first Arcana was released in 2013 (Lina), and until 2018, new ones appeared in the store, through pre-orders, and in updates. Starting in 2017, some Arcanas were tied to Battle Pass levels. Later, Crownfall linked new skins to its event heroes. Trove of Terror added an Arcana for Tidehunter and brought back Drow Ranger’s.

An Arcana vote and a Battle Pass level reward are two different ways an item can be released. Pudge won the TI Arcana vote, and Feast of Abscession followed. Benevolent Companion for Io was a reward at Battle Pass level 245.

How to get an Arcana: the store, events, and bundles

First, decide whether you want a standalone Arcana or a bundle that includes one. Items currently for sale are listed on the Steam Community Market. Past Battle Pass rewards can be harder to find: some have returned in new bundles or events, so the original way to get one doesn’t always reflect its current availability.

Valve sells some Arcanas directly in the Dota 2 store. On the Steam Community Market, players can resell those and Arcanas that are no longer available in the store. Before buying one on the Market, check whether it’s still available in the Dota 2 client store.

• Store and pre-orders. Manifold Paradox and Frost Avalanche were available for pre-order. The free The International 2022 Swag Bag gave players who had played at least 10 matches during the Battle Pass season an Arcana of their choice from those available in the Dota 2 store.
• Battle Pass. Arcanas were rewards at specific levels: The One True King at 375, Eminence of Ristul at 445, and Compass of the Rising Gale at 575, for example.
• Events. Crownfall introduced Arcanas for Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit. Trove of Terror released Maw of the Megalodon and brought back Dread Retribution.
• Bundles with an Arcana. The market has King Kringle for Wraith King, Fluttering Breeze for Windranger, and Intergalactic Orbliterator for Earthshaker.
• Standalone items on the Steam Community Market. Examples include Feast of Abscession, Demon Eater, and Manifold Paradox.

An Arcana’s return doesn’t always mirror its original release. At TI 2025, the Earthshaker bundle included Planetfall again for the first time. Drow Ranger got Dread Retribution through Aghanim's Labyrinth, and the Arcana later returned in Trove of Terror.

How styles unlock and counters work

The requirements for an alternate style depend on the Arcana. Some call for wins; others require you to complete an event. A gem counter can track combos, unique hero kills, or actions using a specific ability.

Manifold Paradox and Pudge’s Arcana

Manifold Paradox levels up as you earn points. A win on Phantom Assassin gives 1 point; the second level unlocks at 40 points and the final one at 100.

To unlock Feast of Abscession’s second style, win 12 matches against Rubick. Rubick must be on the enemy team, not yours. Since 2023, Turbo wins count for half.

Planetfall, Crownfall, and other unlock requirements

Planetfall has a combo counter. Wraith King’s gem tracks unique hero kills, while Windranger’s tracks kills with Focus Fire arrows.

The alternate styles for The Devotions of Dragonus and The Resurrection of Shen unlocked by completing Act IV of Crownfall in November 2024. Maw of the Megalodon has 3 styles.

How much Arcanas cost on the Steam Community Market

These are the lowest listing prices in US dollars on the Steam Community Market as of October 9, 2026. Prices change. Listing counts show how many items are up for sale, not how many have sold.

Among the regular versions in this list, Blades of Voth Domosh has the highest price. Include prefixed variants and the comparison changes: different listings for the same Arcana can have very different prices and listing counts.

The most expensive Arcana and prefixed variants

Of the listings shown, Auspicious Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm costs the most. There’s just 1 listing each for that item, Frozen Fiery Soul of the Slayer, and Genuine Feast of Abscession. Compare these listings separately from the regular versions, which have a different number of listings.

A prefix doesn’t automatically make an item more expensive. Exalted Feast of Abscession costs less than the regular Feast of Abscession, while Genuine costs more. Inscribed Blades of Voth Domosh is also cheaper than the regular version. Compare the full item names: the price of one variant doesn’t tell you what every version of the same Arcana costs.

Bundles that include an Arcana

King Kringle, Fluttering Breeze, and Intergalactic Orbliterator are sold as bundles that include Arcanas. Of the 3, King Kringle costs the most. Keep in mind that a bundle and a standalone item are different listings when comparing prices.
