Rust’s global wipe takes place on the first Thursday of the month

Facepunch releases a monthly update on the first Thursday of every month. A forced wipe, or force wipe, takes place alongside it, generating a new map. The update goes live at 19:00 London time, which is 21:00 in Kyiv year-round.

This is the general schedule for monthly map wipes. A server may have additional wipes between updates, and blueprints are reset according to separate rules.

Rust force wipe schedule for 2026–2027

The table lists the first Thursday of each month from November 2026 to October 2027. The times refer to the release of the update associated with the force wipe, not to when a specific server finishes restarting.

These dates follow the first-Thursday schedule. If Facepunch moves an update, the change will be announced in the Rust news. Separate mandatory updates can also happen between wipes. The Halloween update is due on October 22, 2026, at 18:00 London time, or 20:00 in Kyiv.

Why is it always 21:00 in Kyiv?

The UK and Ukraine change their clocks on the same dates: to winter time on the last Sunday in October and to summer time on the last Sunday in March. London is therefore always two hours behind Kyiv, so 19:00 in London is 21:00 in Kyiv year-round. The UTC time changes: the update goes live at 18:00 in summer and 19:00 in winter.

In October, the clocks change after the first Thursday, so the October dates in the table are still on daylight saving time. In April, the first Thursday falls after the clocks have changed in March. To find the time in another time zone, use the UTC column.

What happens on wipe day

The monthly Rust update goes live first. Servers restart with a new map, and players start over there. Facepunch publishes the patch notes shortly before the update goes live, so you can read them before starting a new run.

From May to August 2026, the updates were announced at 17:44–17:45 UTC, or 20:44–20:45 in Kyiv. The September announcement came earlier, at 17:26 UTC, or 20:26 in Kyiv.

Check Rust news on Steam for the changes. The full update post is published on the Facepunch blog.

What gets reset: the map or blueprints?

A map wipe and a BP wipe are different resets. The first removes the server’s old world; the second resets learned blueprints. They can happen at the same time, but that depends on the rules of the specific server.

Map wipe: bases and supplies disappear

A map wipe removes everything on the map: bases, Tool Cupboards, boxes and their contents, resources, and vehicles. Players start from scratch on a new map. A map wipe by itself does not mean that learned blueprints are reset as well.

Sometimes Facepunch wipes blueprints across all servers. That happened on November 6, 2025, with the Pivot or Die update. Blueprint wipes aren’t scheduled regularly. If it happens again, Facepunch will mention it in the update post.

BP wipe: learned blueprints are reset

BP stands for blueprints. Blueprint wipes happen separately: some servers wipe them with every map wipe, while others do so less often.

Tip

Servers list their BP wipe schedule in the server name or description. Check it before joining so you know whether your learned blueprints will be kept.

Wipes on community servers: Weekly, Biweekly, and Monthly

Unofficial Rust servers follow their own wipe schedules: once a week, every two weeks, or once a month. These intervals are usually shown in the server name, with more details in its description.

  • Weekly — wipes once a week.
  • Biweekly — wipes every two weeks.
  • Monthly — wipes once a month.

A server’s own schedule doesn’t replace the monthly force wipe. It affects all servers: the update changes the game, so the old map can’t be used with it. When choosing a server, consider both its regular wipe interval and the first Thursday of the month.

How to prepare for a fresh map

To plan ahead, check the update time, read the patch notes, and review the server rules. That way, you’ll know when a new map is expected and whether blueprints will be wiped too.

  1. Check the timeFind the month you need in the schedule: the update goes live at 21:00 in Kyiv. Use the UTC column to work out the time in another time zone.
  2. Read the patch notesShortly before the update, the patch notes appear in Rust news on Steam, with the full post on the Facepunch blog.
  3. Choose a serverChoose a server with a wipe interval that suits you, and check its description to see when blueprints are reset.

Frequently asked questions

When is the next Rust wipe?

The next global force wipe is on the next first Thursday of the month that hasn’t happened yet; check the table above for the exact date. A community server may wipe earlier according to its own schedule. Check the server name or description for its wipe date.

What time is the Rust wipe?

The monthly update that comes with the force wipe goes live at 19:00 London time, which is 21:00 in Kyiv year-round. In UTC, that’s 18:00 from April to October and 19:00 from November to March. This is the update release time, not a guaranteed time for the server to finish restarting.

What gets reset in a Rust wipe?

A map wipe removes bases, Tool Cupboards, boxes and their contents, resources, and vehicles. Players start over on a new map. Learned blueprints are reset separately in a BP wipe. Whether the two wipes happen together depends on the server’s rules.

How does a map wipe differ from a BP wipe?

A map wipe removes the old map and everything on it, while a BP wipe resets learned blueprints. Some servers do both at once; others wipe blueprints less often. The server name or description lists its BP wipe schedule.
