Team Fortress 2 Case Battles on CASEWAY

A case battle is a PvP way to open cases: several players open the same cases round after round, and the items are distributed under the rules of the mode. You build the battle yourself — pick the cases, the mode and the number of seats — or join an open lobby in a single click.

How a case battle works

Step 1

Create a battle

Choose your Team Fortress 2 cases, the mode and the number of seats — anything from a 1v1 duel to a 6-player battle. You can also open a private case battle with friends using a password.

Step 2

Wait for opponents

Players take the open seats, and any empty slots can be filled with bots — so the battle can start right away without waiting.

Step 3

Cases open at the same time

Every round, all players open the same case. Results and totals are shown in real time, so the suspense holds right up to the final round.

Step 4

Battle results

Items are distributed under the rules of the selected mode: in single-winner modes the winner receives the items of all participants, in team modes they are split between the winning team. Received items appear in the inventory and can be transferred to Steam or exchanged for balance.

Before your first battle

Start with inexpensive cases — the mechanics are the same, but the entry costs less. Watch someone else's battle as a spectator: the rounds, modes and results are all visible without taking part. Try different modes — in Crazy the worst result wins, while in Mystery the rule is only revealed in the final round.

Case battle FAQ

What is a case battle?

A case battle is a case-opening contest between players: everyone opens the same cases round after round, the results are compared, and the items are distributed under the rules of the selected mode.

How do I open a case battle in Team Fortress 2?

Click "Create a battle", choose your Team Fortress 2 cases from the catalogue, the mode and the number of seats — your lobby then appears in the shared list. Or open the live battles tab and join someone else's in a single click.

Can I play a case battle with friends?

Yes. Create a private battle with entry by a 6-digit code or an invite link. A battle like this does not show up in the public list — you play with your own group only.

What does the winner of a case battle get?

It depends on the mode. In single-winner modes the winner receives the items obtained by all players across all rounds; in team modes they are split between the winning team. The items are available in the CASEWAY inventory: they can be transferred to Steam or exchanged for internal balance.

How do the rounds work and can I review them?

Every round is out in the open: all participants' results are visible in real time, the battle history is public, and any finished battle can be reviewed with a replay. The cases and terms are the same for every player in the battle; see the Fair Play page for the rules.
